UK public-sector bid-building for small business

Government contracts aren't only for the big firms.

Fixed fees

Every price is shown before you commit. No open-ended invoices, no "book a call to find out".

First-timers welcome

Built for your first tender, not just seasoned bidders with a bid team.

A real UK contact

Email a person who knows your bid — not a ticket queue or rotating account manager.

No invented facts

Your bid is true and yours to certify, or we don't send it.

How it works

Four steps from tender to submitted

You stay in control of the parts only you can own. We do the heavy, fiddly middle — the part that scares most small firms off.

01

Free fit-check

Send us a Find a Tender or Contracts Finder link — or we bring you one that fits. We tell you honestly whether it's worth your time, before you spend a penny.

02

We build the pack

We read every line and produce your conditions-of-participation answers, method statements, social value response, price framework and submission checklist.

03

You add what's yours

Your real price, your references, your declarations, your signature. About thirty minutes.

Only you can certify your bid
04

You submit & compete

You send a clean, compliant, on-time bid under your own registration — standing shoulder to shoulder with established suppliers.

What you get

A pack that's ready, not raw

Not a pile of advice and templates. A near-finished bid you can see, check, and send.

Conditions of participation, answered

The selection-stage questionnaire completed and mapped to the buyer's requirements — the section that quietly eliminates unprepared bidders.

Method statements & quality responses

Written to the award criteria and the Most Advantageous Tender scoring, in the language evaluators score against — so your quality marks come easily.

Now mandatory · ~10%+ of your score

A dedicated social value response

The section small firms lose marks on most. We build a compliant, evidence-led social value answer as standard — not an expensive bolt-on.

A transparent price framework

Built from the cost base up, so your number is competitive and you can defend every line of it.

A completion & submission checklist

Plain-English, step by step — so nothing's missed at 4:59pm on deadline day.

We can find the opportunity too

Unlike most consultants, we don't wait for you to bring a tender. We scan Find a Tender & Contracts Finder and bring you contracts you'd genuinely win.

Pricing

Plain prices, posted in public

Most UK bid consultants make you book a call to learn what anything costs. Here's the whole menu — and it undercuts the market.

Our promise

What we won't promise — and what we will

We will never

  • Guarantee you'll win — no one honest can promise a public award.
  • Inflate a win-rate on a slide to impress you.
  • Write a single word in your bid that isn't true.
  • Hide our price or spring an open-ended invoice on you.

We always will

  • Tell you plainly when an opportunity isn't worth bidding.
  • Hand you a pack that's roughly 90% done.
  • Price the work fixed, and show it up front.
  • Keep you in control of every declaration you sign.

Straight answers

The questions everyone actually asks

No — and anyone who guarantees a public award is misleading you. What we guarantee is a bid that's compliant, competitive, and in on time. The award decision belongs to the buyer.

No. You submit it, because you're the one certifying it as true and signing the declarations under your own registration. We get it to the point where that final step is quick and confident — usually about thirty minutes of your time.

To actually bid, yes — you register free on the Central Digital Platform when you're ready, and we'll walk you through it. But you don't need it for a free fit-check, so there's no barrier to finding out whether an opportunity is worth chasing.

Especially you. First-time and small businesses are exactly who we built The Bid Bridge for. And a common myth: you don't always need three years of accounts or public-sector references — many lower-risk contracts don't require them, and we'll steer you to the ones you can win.

Social value is the wider community, economic and environmental benefit your work brings — local jobs, training, carbon reduction, and so on. Under the Procurement Act 2023 it's a mandatory, scored part of most public tenders (often around 10% or more of the marks). It's where small firms lose easy points — so we build a strong social value response into every bid as standard.

By default, no — you pay a fixed price for the work itself, win or lose, agreed up front. If you'd rather share the risk, we can also offer an optional hybrid: a lower build fee plus a small success fee on award. Most UK consultants won't do that.

Yes. The tender, the requirements and the market pricing are public — that's the research we do. The private parts (your price, your references, your signature) are exactly the parts we hand back for you to complete. That division keeps your bid honest and yours.

It depends on the tender, but most straightforward small-business bids come together in a few working days. The real constraint is the buyer's deadline — the earlier you send us the opportunity, the more room we have to do it well. Tight deadline? Tell us and we'll be honest about whether it's still doable.

You keep something real: a compliant bid pack, a defensible price framework, and reusable method statements and social value content that make your next bid faster and stronger. Public buyers also give feedback, which we help you turn into a better next bid.

Yes. Your pricing, references and business details are handled in confidence and used only to prepare your bid. We work from public tender and market data; your private inputs stay yours.

The fit-check is free. Once you decide to proceed, we agree a fixed fee in writing before any work begins — so you always know the number up front. No open-ended invoices, no surprises.

Debbie Scott

Founder — The Bid Bridge UK

Debbie has spent three decades across research, consultancy and technology — the disciplines that turn a dense government tender into a clear, compliant bid pack. As founder of the UK arm, she's both the person who takes the time to understand your business and the engine behind every bid: reading each requirement line by line, building the compliance, social value and pricing groundwork, and surfacing the detail that makes a bid stand up to scrutiny. She's made it her job to clear the path, so the paperwork isn't the thing that stops a capable company winning public work.

Co-founder — The Bid Bridge (US & International)

Rose co-founded The Bid Bridge in the United States, where she leads the US operation. She brings decades of hands-on small-business experience across project management, procurement and contracting — the operational perspective that shapes how The Bid Bridge builds bids on both sides of the Atlantic. As the group's US and international lead, she makes sure the same honest, fixed-fee, small-business-first approach carries through wherever we work.

"I kept seeing capable small firms walk away from work they could win — stopped by the paperwork, not their ability. The Bid Bridge UK exists to clear that away, in plain English, on a fixed fee."
